Counseling

In a world filled with adversity, obstacles, tribulations, and traumatic events there are many different types of experience that are difficult for people to cope with. Trauma-informed care has become a standard practice in health care and mental health care provision and education in many communities. As it relates to therapy and counseling there are many misconceptions, especially within communities of color. A counselor is someone who does his or her best to listen to you and work with you to find the best ways to understand and help individuals develop a plan for resolve, coping, or healing from life’s most difficult experiences.  Despite the label, counselors are not mental health practitioners and therefore do not diagnose or label people, instead, counselors, do their best to work within whatever framework of understanding makes the most sense for each client. The overall goal of Kultuhveyting Kantshes Kors counseling services is to provide individuals with an opportunity to grow, heal, and work towards living a more satisfying life.
